Enabling churches to address housing need

Hundreds of parishes across the Diocese respond to the issue of housing & homelessness, week in week out

Whether it’s Winter Night Shelters, soup kitchens, advice centres, or supporting those who find themselves homeless into stable longer term accommodation, churches play their part in London’s homelessness and housing issue. Churches have also been involved in innovative pilots around Community Land Trusts, building genuinely affordable homes for their local community.

We’re committed to supporting parishes as they serve this need, as well as looking at structural solutions to London’s housing crisis: seeking affordable, safe homes for all Londoners.

We know also that housing is linked to so many other social issues, so we’re linking our work to areas such as mental health, those seeking aslyum, and supporting people into work.

We are working in partnership with some brilliant partner organisations, with huge expertise and long experience of working to end homelessness across our city.
